Legal Consultation Section

The tasks carried out by this branch are mentioned below point by point:-

• Assisting in providing legal opinion and consultation as needed in various legal matters related to the Secretariat, the Federal Parliament and the internal committees formed by the said assembly,
• Legal defense and representation, including presentation of written answers in cases involving constitutional questions, in which the Federal Parliament is for or against, and also to send such written answers or counter-answers to the relevant courts,
• Examining the format, draft, etc. of decisions, including questions of privilege that may arise in the Federal Parliament, proposals for amendments to bills, resolution proposals, attention-grabbing proposals, etc.
• To assist the relevant officers in interpreting the regulations,
• Giving opinion, consultation regarding the process and priority of presenting the bill,
• Giving advice on the ratification of treaties, agreements and other procedural matters and international laws,
• Providing verbal and written advice as needed in the work related to the inter-legislative association and inter-parliamentary friendly groups and the internal procedures of the secretariat,
• Internal work and policy related to the Federal Parliament Secretariat Tarjumama Rai Dene,
• Prepare drafts for amendment and amendment of Acts, Legislation related to the Secretariat,
• Drafting notices to be published in the Nepal Gazette on behalf of the Federal Parliament Secretariat.
